Kindle Fire "cracked", Can Run Android 4.0

Fire from Amazon's Kindle tablets gain popularity in the U.S. thanks to a high enough price is cheap. So far, the Kindle Fire still running Android version that has been speciallyadapted (customized) by Amazon.

However, as quoted by PC World, a pengoprek named Steven claimed to havesuccessfully run Android Ice Cream Sandwich in the Kindle Fire. He also shows the resultsoprekannya it in a video on YouTube and submit it on the XDA Developers Forum.

Indeed, the results are still not perfect. Audio support, WiFi, accelerometer and light sensor can not be found on the device.

Steven reportedly intends to publish open source projects specifically to run the Ice CreamSandwich in the Kindle Fire. He will share the code he used in the demo on this project.

So far, the Kindle has succeeded in Fire-root to install the Android Market. Supposedly,Kindle Fire only provides access to Amazon AppStore. In addition, CyanogenMod7custom ROM (based on Android 2.3 / Gingerbread) is also available to install on KindleFire.

Amazon seems not much to react to these actions. They had issued OS updates that disable root access. But users can still perform root device reset.
